 Reissue of 1973 private press LP. With paste-on covers. Before he played drums behind a man called Sting, drummer Stewart Copeland (you know, the Police) played behind a man called Charles Hugo Nowak Ostman II a.k.a. His Royal Highness The Grand Zilch Of Ozone. This is a reissue of the self-released LP these two young men made in Berkeley, California, in the early 1970s. Charles plays guitar, bass, clarinet, sings (except one tune with vocal by Bailey Pegasus Pendergrass III), and wrote the tunes. The sound is something like Country Joe & the Fish at their most acidic, but with a lo-fi homemade quality and a looseness approaching free jazz. The clarinet solos are "primitive" in ways similar to both Beefheart and the Godz.
